Corgi's and the Royal Wedding
With all the latest hype over the Royal Wedding, I thought I'd post some of my favorite Corgi Royal Wedding things that I found online. The first is the large corgi cake that was made. This made the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest cake for dogs! You can see the video of it here. Looks tasty huh! BOL (Bark Out Loud)!
The second thing I found was this super cute Royal Wedding tea towel with a corgi on it. Too bad it is sold out, but still cute to share! You can see it here.
And last, but not least is my favorite, a video of the corgis gathering to watch the Royal Wedding on TV. It's too cute! You can see it here.

Another Favorite Artist - Robert McClintock
Another favorite artist post for today. One of my current favorite artist is a guy named Robert McClintock who is a photographer out of Baltimore. He takes his photos into Photoshop and works it into a painted image. He does a lot of cityscape's and dog and cat portraits. His images are very interesting to look at. I love the realistic painted effect mixed with hints of color and strokes added in. He does these by hand on the computer in Photoshop adding in color and strokes.
I am currently learning some new painting techniques in Photoshop CS5 using the new color mixer brush. In Photoshop CS5, which came out in May 2010, they have added color mixing. So it takes pixels and mixes them together, not like in the past when it would just move the same color pixel around. So, it is just like painting and taking two colors and mixing them together on a canvas. Pretty neat! I bought a Bamboo Pen & Touch tablet and have been learning how to draw and paint with all the new brushes with the Mixer Brush. I'm hoping to master these techniques a bit more and start doing painted photo images similar to Roberts work.
Shaw's Shout Out: Robert McClintock

Favorite Artist #1
So I've slacked again in my blogging. Boo on me!
As promised, I'd like to start featuring some of my current favorite artists. My first favorite artist I'll feature is Linda Zacks. Linda lives in Brooklyn and she does some pretty cool urban art. She creates a lot of her images first by hand as a collage and then finishes them on the computer. I love the way she fuses color into these very urban images she creates. Her images are pleasing to look, hip and with the times and some make you think.

Traffic
I have calculated that I spend roughly 7 hours and 30 minutes in rush hour traffic to and from work each week. That seems like too much time in the car for a week. Think of what I could do with that amount of time if I were at home instead. Maybe it's time to change that!
Shaw's Shout Out of the Day: My favorite frozen organic food Amy's. They have amazing food, at a good price, and easy to prepare. I've had numerous dishes and haven't found anything I don't like. Their chocolate cake is amazing too. Try it and see if you like it.

Chihuly Nights at Cheekwood
Well, I promised some new artsy stuff to add to my blog, and here is the first. This past Friday evening I went over to Cheekwood Botanical Gardens here in Nashville, TN to see Chihuly Nights. From May 25th to October 31st, they are featuring glass artist Dale Chihuly's work. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights they light up the artwork and are open till 10:00 p.m. for Chihuly Nights. I've seen his glass works before in numerous places, but I've never seen it at night all light up. I gotta say it was pretty cool to see that. If your in the Nashville area I recommend going to see this exhibit as it is totally worth it!
You can read more about Dale Chihuly and his glass work at this website.

Coffee coffee, oh coffee!
Do you love coffee like I do? I mean I can't function in the mornings without it. I stumble around half awake till I get some coffee flowing in the veins. I have my favorite brands and flavors, and then I have that backup coffee that hangs out in the bin till I need it. I own a Tassimo coffee maker, and a regular coffee pot too. I love my Tassimo as it is super handy. You don't have to think too hard to operate it - grab coffee disk, stick it in, push large button and poof, a cup of coffee is in front of you. Can't go wrong with that! And they have Cappuccino disks, which happen to be my fav.
Shaw's shout out of the Day: The best coffee maker ever!

Hello Again! It's me attempting to blog again! Yes you read that correctly!
Ok, I've decided it is time I revamp the ol' Shawsters Blog and start blogging again. Time for a new look and feel for the blog. I'll still do my Shaw Shout Out's at the bottom of each blog, an added favorite of mine. And I plan to add in some fun and interesting art and design information to each post.
So what is assisting me to start blogging again? .....a new computer! I recently got a new Mac Mini and wide screen HP monitor and I'm loving it! I'm surfing away, Facebooking of course, and organizing every single photo I've every taken in iPhoto. Totally loving the new computer and the new feeling that comes with it. Having a new piece of new technology in front of me gives me a good excuse to start blogging again.
Shaw's Shout out of the day: The Daily Corgi Blog
This is my newest favorite blog! My dog Frasier is a welsh corgi, and I love reading about other corgis as well.
